Dinesh Karthik: Unsung Hero born in a wrong time

Raw content from: cricmatez.com

He is perhaps one of the most unlucky cricketer of India, Yes, he is unfortunate player by taking birth in the era of Dhoni.

When he first came into lime-light everybody said that he was the next Gilchrist.... Dinesh Karthik would have been a regular in both the formats of the game, But Someone's gain is the loss of another.

In 2007,he was placed in the test team and sent to open the innings in England along with Wasim Jaffer.... He scored three fifties in three tests in that series which India have won.

Then he lost his rhythm after that due to bad form and lack of concentration in his wicket-keeping.... The frequent success of Dhoni also contributed to his downfall.... On many occasions,he was called back into the team as a specialist batsman which shows that he had good batting skills.

Karthik was a consistent performer in IPL, he played for three teams KingsXI-Punjab, Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians.... But when he purchased by Mumbai Indians and in the recent IPL-6 he played superbly... He is one of the pillar in the success of Mumai Indians.

With the consistent performance in this year's Ranji trophy and IPL he again got a place in Team India for Champions trophy... He got two back to back centuries in the warmup games, and confirmed a place in the XI too...

He has got good technique and temperament to succeed even in the longer format.Challenges and competitions are always good to see.... It will not only force Dhoni to be more consistent for India but will work as an inspiration for other batsmen too.... I hope he will continue his good form and cement his place in Team India...

Rohit Sharma: Victim of his own talent....

Inspired by the words of Ravi Shastri....

Cricket world cup - 2007, Rohit Sharma treated as most talented young player, gave hopes to Indian batting line-up questions at that time... Who is there after Dravid and Laxman.... After six years in IPL-6 again giving  the same hopes by leading Mumbai successfully.... When Ponting failed as captain and also as a batsman..... Mumbai management looked at Rohit Sharma... Mumbai won three matches consecutively under Rohit's captaincy.... Very less will have the talent like Rohit.... He may not hit sixes furiously as Gayle or Afridi.... But he hits sixes with superb timing and flawless drives.... Statistics doesn't reflects Rohit's talent.... Some say he is not mentally strong, some say wrong shot selection and lack of fitness.... But the thing is he is a victim of his own talent.... becoz he got 2 or 3 shots for every ball... he is not deciding which shot is to play.... Still he is 26 only... May be the next decade is of Rohit Sharma....

He is one of my favourite player.... he will be the next big thing in Indian cricket....
